Käymme
näyttelyissä nykyisin harvakseltaan. Olemme päässeet irti pakosta näyttelyttää
joka kissa EC:ksi ja siksi näyttelyihin voikin lähteä iloisella mielellä,
turistiksi katsomaan, mitä kissamaailmaan nyt kuuluu. Jos mukaanotettu kissa
menestyy, olemme siitä iloisia, mutta se on meille aivan yhtä hyvä kissa, vaikka
tuomari sattuisi moittimaankin. Paljon tärkeämpää kuin yksittäisen tuomarin
henkilökohtainen mielipide kissastamme on oma tietoisuutemme sen hyvistä
puolista ja sellaisista kohdista, joissa on toivomisen varaa. Kasvattajana
meidän on tunnettava rotumme paremmin kuin tuomari, joka joutuu hallitsemaan
useiden rotujen hienoudet.
We
go nowadays to show only occasionally. We no longer feel that every cat should
become Europa Champion. Therefore it is nice go to the shows as "tourists
to find out what is going on in the cat fancy. If the cat that we take along is
successful, fine, but we still think that he is an equally fine cat, should the
judge dislike him. Each judge expresses her or his personal opinion of our cat,
but for us it is much more important to know the good aspects of the cat as well
those that leave something to desire. As breeders we must know our breed better
than the judge who needs to master the finer points of many
breeds.
